Overview >>                      WSAN4CIP

The Objective The goal of WSAN4CIP (1.1.2009 - 31.12.2011) is to advance the technology of Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks (WSANs) and to apply this technology to the Protection of Critical Infrastructures (CI), i.e. power generation and distribution.

Challenges • Design new sensor node protection mechanism to improve their dependability;
• Develop innovative dependable networking approaches for WSANs;
• Create dependable services to run on top of WSANs that ensure a controlled degradation of
   information in case of failures rather than total management system failure.

IHP’s Contribution • Requirement driven configuration of sensor node software
• Secure and dependable execution environment
• Detection of node misbehaviour
• Intelligent energy and QoS management
• Technical project management

Funding The project is funded by EU FP-7 (ICT-225186).
