The IHP consists of approximately 230 employees, primarily in the area of wireless communications, including SiGe-based technologies, diagnostics, and materials research. We are working in a multi-disciplinary environment, spanning materials, process technology, circuits and systems. The IHP is housed in a state-of-the-art building, with ultra-modern facilities, 55 minutes from Berlin. Our innovations are in worldwide demand.

We are seeking a candidate with a PhD or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science for investigating middleware and security solutions for embedded systems and wireless sensor networks. This work is embedded into national as well as international research projects which are partly funded by the Federal Research Ministry and the European Commission. The following topics are to be dealt with:

• Robust and reliable data storage in embedded systems and wireless sensor networks

• Security and privacy solutions on embedded systems and wireless sensor networks.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a strong research record, networking background and excellent knowledge on crypto-primitives, operating systems, and/or driver programming. Skills in at least two of the following programming/specification languages are essential: Java; C++; C; System C; VHDL; UML; SDL; Matlab. Industrial experience would be an advantage.
