Nanoscience and Nanotechnology offer the exciting opportunity to control the growth of oxide systems with reduced dimensions to tailor the properties of complex materials for various applications in modern technology. The Physics School is intended to teach students and young researchers the current state-of-the-art in this exciting R & D field. 15 internationally acknowledged speakers are invited to present in their lectures the most fascinating topics of their research fields. Special emphasize will be given to solid state phenomena, synchrotron-based materials science characterization methods, growth of nano-structured materials and technology applications.
