Wireless sensor networks

For more than 15 years we have been developing wireless sensor networks in the application fields of environmental monitoring / agriculture, critical infrastructures and e-health. To achieve this, we follow a holistic approach which encompasses the development of own sensor nodes, the development of energy-efficient protocols and middleware approaches and IT security solutions for resource-limited systems. The sensor node systems created in this manner consisting of hardware and software can be deployed in all the stated application fields. The adaptation is essentially carried out by adapting the data evaluation of the application-specific sensors. The validity of the approaches was proved under realistic conditions in numerous demonstrators, among others within the framework of water resources management in southern Spain, with a smart home application in a holiday home village in the Netherlands or a study with asthma patients in the Netherlands.
