Visiting Professorship for IHP Scientist

Giovanni Capellini, Professor at Università Degli Studi Roma Tre and senior scientists at IHP – Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics, has been appointed the Boelter Chair in Engineering at the Henri Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) during the summer 2022.

The rotating Boelter Chair is a prestigious visiting professorship appointment and is reserved for highly distinguished individuals, especially those involved in multi-disciplinary research and education. Prof. Giovanni Capellini will focus his research at UCLA on the development of innovative bio-sensing methods.

“I am very honored by the appointment”, says Giovanni Capellini. “During my visit, I am investigating how the pioneering plasmonic sensing approaches proposed by Prof. Xie’s group, with whom I collaborate, can be further developed and possibly integrated in Si-based technologies”.
