Evaluation of Approaches to Integrate Multi-Module Security Systems in Wireless Sensor Networks

Security configuration of standard systems is a tedious and error prone task. Doing this for WSN is even more complex due to the scarce resources of the sensor nodes. In order to simplify this task we proposed a middleware architecture. The main idea is that a configuration tool selects security providing modules such as appropriate cipher means. The choice is based on a detailed description of security needs of the application under development as well as on the description of the available security modules and sensor nodes.
