Abstract: This work presents a coverage analysis for a shortrange 60 GHz radio link inside an aircraft cabin, focusing on the effect of using different antenna configurations. In particular, we investigate the impact of gain (and consequently, beamwidth), orientation, and polarization variations. To evaluate the resulting effects, the cumulative distribution function of the direct path gain as function of these parameters is considered. The path gain is determined using simulated patterns for some variations of an LTCC cavity antenna.
