Abstract: In this paper, we present a non-coherent differential binary phase-shift keying demodulation scheme with a 1-bit analogue-digital-converter, based on a novel likelihood-decoding scheme. It needs very little resources in both, the analogue and the digital domain. This is useful for simple receivers operating under frequency-flat channel conditions. The demodulation scheme was integrated in a complete transceiver based on a FPGA platform connected to a 60 GHz analogue frontend. In addition to the presented simulations, we measured the real system behavior in an office environment and showed a stable HD video transmission over a 60 GHz line-of-sight link.
