Silicon-based Ultra-Compact Cost-Efficient System Design for mm-Wave Sensors (SUCCESS) – Workshop at the IMS 2012

22.08.2012
On June 22th, the team of the SUCCESS project, which is coordinated by the IHP, held a scientific workshop within the framework of the International Microwave Symposium in Montreal.

One of the organizers and lecturers, Dr. Christoph Scheytt, considers the workshop a great success. The organizers were pleased to welcome more than 30 participants who enjoyed discussing the design and development of a special low-cost, surface-mountable 120 GHz radar sensor. The most recent research results from both academia and industry were presented including innovative findings in the design of receivers, transmitters, on-chip radar system, as well as mm-wave package technology with integrated antennas. The workshop did not only cover the design of sensors, but also included the challenging testing and measurement of MMICs. Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) is a type of integrated circuit operating at microwave frequencies.
