"Jugend forscht"-intern Louisa Schwitzer at IHP

As a research sponsor, we support Europe's largest youth competition in sciences and technology - "Youth research". The subject areas of the annual competition are divided into the areas of work environment, biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics and engineering.

For the external winner of the Brandenburg state competition IHP provides annually a 2-week internship. In 2016 we were welcoming Louisa Schwitzer - high-school graduate from the Einstein-Gymnasium in Neuenhagen. During her internship, she gained an insight into all four research departments of IHP.

In addition, IHP's apprentices are also allowed to participate in the "Youth research"- competition. In 2013 Niklas Kroh, former mechatronics apprentice in 2nd year, along with Pascal and Florian Berthold, then pupils at the Gauss-Gymnasium in Frankfurt (Oder) took part. With their idea "Fuel cells produced at lower costs", they achieved success at the National Competition in 2013 and the 5th place in the division "Physics" at the 48th Federal Competition in Leverkusen.

The building and the infrastructure of the IHP were funded by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union, funds of the Federal Government and also funds of the Federal State of Brandenburg.
