Sub-Contract: Positioning and Localisation

Location based services such as video applications have significant advantages allowing specific location based adaptation of the video contents. The position and location information is based on measurements of the distance to other stations. In combination with a model of the environment, the media streaming to mobile Terminals (VHR-E) can be adapted to their actual positions.

The aim of this project is a theoretical investigation and a cost assessment in relation to the achievable accuracy. Based on this investigation, recommendations for the design of PHY and MAC will be derived. The result can be used for the PHY and MAC-parameter specification.
