Sub-Project: Baseband processing and RF-Frontend for a wireless high-speed data transmission system at 60 GHz
The main objective of the sub-project performed by TU Dresden is the development of innovative system concepts for wireless data communication with large bandwidth and low power consumption and low hardware requirements respectively. Particularly, this comprises concepts for throughputs up to 10 GBits/s of wireless communication links. The targeted system architecture and base band algorithms are optimised with respect to the global specifications. In this context, innovative approaches based on optimised OFDM and direct modulation schemes are investigated. Moreover, the integrated RF front-end for the transmitter is developed and is integrated in SiGe BiCMOS technologies. In parallel, base band algorithms are implemented on FPGA platforms to enable a complete transmitter for the demonstrator show cases.
