Microtechnologist, specialization semiconductor technology

You would like to apply your interest in technology in an innovative working environment? You are a team player and diligence is your second name? Then a vocational training to become a microtechnologist is perfect for you!  As a trainee you will contribute to a trouble-free wafer production on which our staff can rely.

The responsibility of a microtechnologist comprises the operation of state-of-the-art semiautomatic facilities for the processing of high-purity silicone disks on which microchips are manufactured under cleanroom conditions with the help of special coating, etching and doping procedures. You control and optimize the process conditions and are responsible for quality assurance and the achievement of preferably high yields of functioning components and circuits.

The length of training is 3 years. but can be shortened to 2½ years with excellent performance.  Vocational school education will take place utilizing sandwich courses at the Lise-Meitner-Schule in Berlin.

The successful candidate will have the general qualification for university entrance or of a specialized secondary school with the eligibility to visit the senior classes of a secondary school and will also have good marks in the subjects mathematics, physics, chemistry and English. Further prerequisites include technical understanding as well as an interest in technology and complex chemical and physical procedures. Reliability and flexibility as well as a precise style of working are absolutely essential. Because of the especially high purity requirements in the cleanroom and the danger of particle emission while smoking, nonsmokers are preferred. The health requirements for the execution of this profession as well as for working in shift operation must be verified with a medical health examination before the start of training.
