Research Award 2021: Natural science theses by pupils sought

Apply now! In 2021, the “Friends of IHP” is again  looking for very good works with a scientific or technical focus from talented pupils. Project or technical works form grades 9 to 12 from the state of Brandenburg can be submitted by e-mail up to June 11th. This year, works from the school year 2019/20 and 2020/21 can be submitted. A jury of the association will divide the research award, which is endowed with 2.400 euros, among several winners. Since 2010, the association has been supported by the Sparkasse Oder-Spree, which also offers special prizes in the total amount of 500 euros.

In recent years, the jury was amazed at the high quality of the works, which dealt with a wide variety of topics. Most recently, the 2019 Research Award was presented. For example, the winners dealt with the topics of “Weather forecasting based on locally collected measured values” and “Methods for measuring indoor air quality using a carbon dioxide measuring cells”.

The deadline for applications for this year’s Research Award is 11th of June 2021. The awarding of prizes will be decided on the recommendation of a jury appointed by the board of the “Friends of IHP e.V.”. The legal process is excluded. Eligible are works by individuals and project groups that have not yet received an award at state or nation level and were written at a school in the state of Brandenburg in the 2019/20 or 2020/21 school year. The works and a statement from the supervising teacher must be submitted by e-mail to forschungspreis@ihp-microelectronics.com.

The award ceremony will take place online or hybrid at the end of September this year.
