6G-Takeoff

The 6G-TakeOff project aims to provide anytime, anywhere connectivity by developing new network architectures and technologies for 6G communication. To this end, 6G-TakeOff will strive for a 3D communications network that is unified in design approach, where flying network nodes (satellites, drones, helicopters) together with terrestrial network nodes provide functionalities dynamically (on demand). The holistic approach required to achieve this will enable innovations that go beyond 5G NTN approaches by leveraging the potential of flying network components in a much more comprehensive and in-depth way. A 6G system will connect network components flexibly, autonomously, where necessary independent of infrastructure, and according to current requirements.

Funding

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
