A recently launched interdisciplinary research project at Brandenburg universities and research institutions with the catchy acronym ‘InSeKT’ is developing new ideas to better utilise artificial intelligence (AI) at the edges of IT networks, so-called ‘edges’.

The focus is on decentralised data processing, which can achieve real-time capability and improve data protection at the same time. The aim of the project is to perform complex calculations directly at the data location, for example in sensor applications. This means that large data transfers over long distances can be avoided.

For more details please contact IHP project leader Dr. Leticia Maria Bolzani Pöhls.
