Radar4FAD

The main objective of the project is the development of modular high-performance radar components which should be highly-flexible, cost-efficient, fail-safe as well as suitable for mass production, for all kinds of radar applications for highly-automated driving. To meet the increasing requirements on the radar sensors regarding the sensitivity, spatial resolution as well as the robustness against interferences and malfunctions, new solution approaches are needed such as:

  • more efficient modulation methods like OFDM and PN
  • parallel working MIMO concepts
  • adaptive smart digital beamforming
  • compressed sensing radar
  • more efficient use of the usable bandwidth in the 76-81-GHz Band
