Radiation-tolerant RF circuits for Space applications
The Space applications sector requires radio frequency circuits, which fulfill highest requirements concerning a reliable operation under harsh environmental conditions (i.e. temperature range, exposure to cosmic radiation, and radio channel conditions in satellites). Apart from the power dissipation, the radiation tolerance is the biggest challenge. Here, specific circuit solutions are developed which allow the minimization of radiation sensitivity while providing the requested RF performance. These design activities are supported by corresponding simulation methods and design strategies.
