System solutions and circuits for 5G/ 6G cellular and backhaul/ fronthaul networks

IHP has developed several solutions for 5G/6G mobile networks. This includes solutions for mm-wave fronthaul and backhaul networks, synchronisation as well as localization of mobile nodes. Wireless systems allow estimating the distance between nodes using time-of-flight measurements. Furthermore, with antenna arrays, the angle-of-arrival of radio waves can be determined. This way, precise localization and positioning can be achieved.  Based on wireless communication systems, IHP developed advanced solutions that allow ranging, localization as well as RADAR-like functionalities on top of high-rate data communications.
