On October 25, TOTAL E-QUALITY e. V. awarded the IHP - Leibniz Institute for High Performance Microelectronics with its award of the same name in Erfurt for its extraordinary commitment to equal opportunities in the workplace. As IHP was hono-red for the fifth time for anchoring and expanding equal opportunities and diversity in the company, the Frankfurt-based scientific institution also received the Sustainability Award for Equal Opportunities and Diversity. Since the last certification in 2019, the IHP has particularly distinguished itself through the workshop series "Leading for Equality", in which more than 40 key persons of the institute jointly developed measures for raising awareness and visibility of equality as well as opportunity-oriented leadership as an important goal of IHP. These measures resulted in IHP's first gender equality plan.

The jury's statement reads, among other things: "IHP has intensified and systematized its commitment to equal opportunities in many areas during the last application period. Fundamental to the structural and strategic anchoring of the topic is the first institute-specific equality plan, which IHP developed in the participatory 'Leading for Equality' process." For this purpose, an image video was recently published, which illustrates the initial situation, the process and today's measures to promote equal opportunities.

"IHP thrives on innovation. We offer a working environment in which everyone can develop their creative potential and generate new ideas. We challenge and encourage our employees, pay attention to an equal opportunity management culture and, as a family-friendly employer, create opportunities for all walks of life," says Nicolas Hübener, administrative director of IHP. "For years, one of the focal points of our work in the area of human resources has been the advancement of women in science and science-supporting fields. Through cooperation with daycare centers and schools, through events such as the Brandenburg Future Day, or through internships, for example as part of the EnterTechnik program, we address children and young people at an early stage and offer exciting insights into the world of STEM professions and the numerous fields of application of microelectronics. In doing so, we acontribute to securing our skilled workforce of tomorrow."

Marie Rohner, Personnel Development and Marketing Officer, attended the award ceremony on behalf of IHP, along with 58 other award winners from all over Germany. The jury of TOTAL E-QUALITY e. V. emphasized in the statement on the award: "To be awarded five times is clear proof of a strong and sustainable commitment. IHP is a role model for the successful implementation of equal opportunity and diversity, and in this role it significantly contributes to societal progress."
